The Charlene M. Tanner Lecture Series at Mercyhurst University presents Carvin Eison to discuss “The Memory of Place: Sin, Pictures, and Progress.” Eison, an acclaimed filmmaker and owner of the production company ImageWordSound, is recognized internationally for creating intensely powerful films that explore racial dissonance and social discord in American culture. He’ll discuss racial injustice, his research on Frederick Douglass, and the role of imagery and filmmaking in increasing awareness of issues of diversity and inclusion.
