The Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center has a long history of interaction and involvement with the community. Much collaboration takes place between the center and the college’s music and dance departments regularly co-presenting extensive workshops. The center also works with elementary and high school students in the area, exposing them to a wide variety of art expression. Ninety-five percent (95%) of the artists that visit the center offer specifically tailored educational outreach activities designed to engage over 9,500 area students from grades five through twelve. The center has formed partnerships with Mercyhurst Preparatory School, Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy, Jefferson Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Middle School, St. John’s, and St. Luke’s.
